Bend, OR. February 7, 2023 -- Range Revolution today announced its regeneratively-sourced Land to Market Verified handbag collection made its debut at NY NOW, the premier wholesale trade show occurring February 5th through February 8th at the Javits Center in NYC. Range Revolution, nominated a Sustainable Design award finalist at NY NOW,  has developed a unique traceable leather supply chain, sourcing hides directly from partner ranches in the USA. These partner ranches monitor their lands using Savory Institute’s  Ecological Outcome Verification™ (EOV™) , showing empirical improvements to the ecological health of lands managed holistically with cattle. Range Revolution’s regeneratively sourced hides are vegetable tanned in the USA and crafted into luxury heirloom handbags and luggage staples.

“How we produce our food and our fibers lies at the heart of our most critical environmental issues. In regenerative agriculture, the holistic management of cattle is a key tool for increasing soil health & biodiversity, increasing water holding capacity and sequestering more carbon on rangelands,” said founder Cate Havstad-Casad. “We believe that revolutions can be beautiful, design can be a force for good, and business in support of biodiversity and circularity are the future. The future of fashion must include traceability of leathers so we can be sure the products we build are not degenerating our earth. That is our promise; timeless designs, traceable, transparent, verifiably regenerative supply chains,” continued Havstad-Casad.

Range Revolution provides retailers and brand collaborators a turn-key solution to introduce regeneratively sourced leather goods in their collections. All Range Revolution products are Land to Market verified and are available for wholesale orders now.

Over 1,000 products have earned the Land to Market verification seal, which means they came from land that’s verified regenerative, improving environmental health. Currently, Land to Market and its 80+ brand members are positively impacting over 3.5 million acres around the world.

“Not all leather is the same. Range Revolution is bringing visibility into why buying regeneratively matters, making people think about where products, like leather luggage, come from and what impact it has on the planet,” said Chris Kerston, CO-CEO of Land to Market. “We expect to continue seeing big things from this brand as Cate and team work with even larger brands to do business differently – encouraging more fashion brands to look further back into their supply chains to know where all their raw materials are coming from and what impact they have on the environment,” continued Kerston.

Land to Market works directly with farmers, ranchers and other raw material producers using Ecological Outcome VerificationTM (EOV), a scientific protocol that measures land health and verifies whether farmland is in a state of regeneration or degeneration. EOV was developed by the nonprofit Savory Institute, together with Michigan State University, Texas A&M, Ovis 21, The Nature Conservancy and others. As farmers and ranchers implement practices that regenerate their land, EOV measures the environmental impact and provides feedback for continuous improvement. As more land is regenerated, more vegetation is grown and more CO2 is removed from the atmosphere — helping to reduce temperature shifts caused by rising carbon in the atmosphere. In this way, regenerative agriculture has a critical role to play in addressing climate change.

Products with the Land to Market seal are sourced from farms and ranches showing positive environmental outcomes through EOV. With the Land to Market seal, consumers can have confidence that the materials in the products they purchase have been scientifically proven to heal the earth.
